Anneli Särnblad Pederson grew up in Orsa in Dalarna. During her professional life, she has worked in healthcare, and that is where her interest in politics began. She has been a municipal and county council politician, and between 2002 and 2010 she was a member of parliament for Dalarna County.
With the book "Raven - in the Shadow of the Rooster" she wants to highlight the importance of seeing addiction as an illness, explain how strong the claws of addiction are and, not least, that the disease of addiction can affect anyone. The book contains elements of her own experiences, and she promised many of those she shared time with at the treatment home that she would one day write this story. Only a few of these people are alive today. In the book, Anneli shares thoughts from those who did not break free from addiction, from those who suffer from the disease but who today dare to live in a new way.
