Beyond the tears

Stefan Karlsson

Softcover, 256 pages

In a small community in the middle of darkest Småland, the meticulously maintained church watches over one end and the frightening but alluring lake over the other. A dark energy broods over the two hills next to the church. During her stay there, Julia meets the caring and secretive man in the small cottage, the cheerful and contact-seeking owner of the village's popular café and the responsible and balancing priest. Together they tackle a mysterious disappearance, visit mysterious places, reveal hidden relationships and become best friends.

Join us on an adventure with Julia, a caring, cheerful girl in her early 30s, with the ability to sense what is not visible to ordinary eyes. She takes you through the Småland environment, where the picturesque turn-of-the-century house that served as the community's only hotel for several decades is located next to the lake, where the old pike swim. In the middle of the village is the charming and well-visited Café Pepparkakan, where even mysterious strangers find their way.

Reader reactions:

"I just wanted to write to you and tell you that I have now finished reading the book about Julia's sensations. It was so exciting to read and appealed to me a lot! I thought Julia's intuitive traits made the story exciting and mysterious. The characters were absolutely wonderful and I could really picture all of them! It was truly a book you wanted to keep reading until it was finished! My experience is that it can appeal to many, as you wrote with a suitably "spiritual" tone throughout the book. I think it fits so well with the intuitive aspects of a mysterious disappearance. I really hope that you make a sequel or write a similar book!"/ Martina
