The era of the heart

Nanna Aida Svendsen

Translated into Swedish by Åsa Leander

Cardboard: 128 pages with color photographs

The Tides of the Heart is a book that you turn to when life is spinning too fast or when you just need a moment of nice relaxation. The book is filled with the deepest wisdom of life interwoven with beautiful nature poetry, inspired by the Stockholm archipelago. There is a text to read for each week throughout the year, divided into the four seasons. All the weekly texts are illustrated with a natural picture from the archipelago.

For the book's author Nanna Aida Svendsen, it is the inner life and the feeling of being connected to nature and all living things that inspire her. She invites reflection and provokes thoughts about our lifestyle and where it is leading us. She sees the long perspectives. Nanna says that she "writes at a time when the planet Earth itself, and also our hearts, seem to cry out for awareness, healing and love. It seems as if it asks us to stop and reflect and connect to the deeper wisdom that lies within us." This is the very essence of The Age of the Heart .

Åsa Leander about her role in the work with Hjärtats tidevarv : "I couldn't help but interpret and translate Nanna's urgent and beautiful texts. In this way, I could contribute to giving them the widest possible distribution in Sweden, something that is especially important now in these troubled times. It felt natural to illustrate Nanna's words with my pictures from the Stockholm archipelago where we both find strong inspiration."
