Underwater

Irene Weidegård

Cardboard with gold foil and reading band, 276 pages

A magical journey of life

Life whirls by at high speed. Excitement and magic spice up the daily grind of existence. Unexpected events unfold and surprise, dramatically and sometimes life-threateningly. Where are we headed when synchronicity so ingeniously shows the way?

Somehow I am taken to one of my dream destinations, Lapland. I am already expected at the turn of the millennium, I am told, and especially for what I have in my hands. My steps lead me one day in 2000, into Norrtälje city library, where I pull Västerbottens-Kuriren from the newspaper shelf. My eyes are caught by an advertisement: “Cheap log houses in the Västerbotten hinterland at a quick deal”.

What was it the medium had said? “A relative of yours from the spirit world, pointing north. He says you must move there because you need those energies and there you will also take a certificate in Reiki healing.” She continued: “Everything is so intricately calculated and your dream will come true.”

I wrote down the phone number of the seller of the house and put the newspaper back.

Now it begins, I thought.
